dc.description.abstract Lead toxicity on the immune system is similar to that produced in other tissues in that it does not seem to cause a single disease or condition, but rather the modulation of imuniune cell function by regulating numerous cellular processes, biochemical and molecular. It is the opinion of rawuruhuc that the direct und indirect olleets of Icud on T cell functions are likely to be most significant for human health. While the immune system is a potentially important target for lead toxicity has been fueled largely by in vivo studies in which lead poisoning lowers host resistance to infectious pathogens, causes hypersensitivity of the immune system and even a self-immunity, In our study, we wanted to demonstrate the effect of this metal on some immunological parameters: white blood cells, neutrophils, basophils, eosinophils, monocytes and lymphocytes. In assessing the toxicity of lead, male rabbits were exposed to a diet containing PbCl2 alone or in combination with the amino acid cysteine, for a period of four weeks. The results showed that lead stimulates all leukocytes, inducing a state of hypersensitivity, plus a decrease in body weight and the occurrence of anemia in the group treated with lead, against the administration by a cysteine decreased this i We therefore assumed that if this response persists few weeks, the clinical manifestation of hypersensitivity or susceptibility to a deadly series of infectious agents and autoimmunity are cast en_US
