dc.description.abstract This research intends to discuss the U.S withdrawal from the Iranian nuclear deal known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA). It analyses the different phases of Iran’s nuclear program and how the deal was reached. It primarily sheds light on the U.S. exit from the deal and its main effects. The deal aimed at lifting the sanctions imposed on Iran in return of stopping nuclear activities for a specific time. After a certain recovery for the Iranian economy, Trump’s dissatisfaction with the deal led to his withdrawal and the reimpostion of new sanctions. The Trump administration advanced a number of reasons for its exit. Iran has been specifically accused of supporting terrorist groups. Therefore, the withdrawal could escalate the situation and would lead to more complicated issues of retaliation. It may lead Iran to return to nuclear activities. en_US
