Résumé:
Acquiring vocabulary is an important skill in the language learning process, especially for
EFL learners seeking to improve their proficiency in using English effectively for
communication. However, many EFL students may encounter challenges in using the target
language appropriately due to limited vocabulary. The current research explores the
significance of using YouTube videos outside the classroom to enhance EFL learners'
vocabulary. The core hypothesis of this research assumes that EFL learners' vocabulary
would develop if they engage with YouTube videos. To test this hypothesis and achieve the
objective of this study, a descriptive quantitative method is used. A questionnaire is
designed and distributed to sixty second-year students (L2) at the Department of English,
University of 08 Mai 1945 - Guelma. According to the findings of the study, it can be
inferred that most EFL Learners have positive attitudes towards YouTube videos to enhance
their vocabulary. The results also revealed the effectiveness of YouTube videos in
improving EFL learners’ vocabulary. Thus, the findings are consistent with the research
hypothesis. So it is better recommended for EFL learners to engage with YouTube videos
for their vocabulary development.
