dc.description.abstract This thesis presents a comprehensive critical analysis of the United States federal system by examining its historical foundations, structural framework, contemporary dynamics, and future trajectory. The thesis finds that while the US federal system has enabled a flexible and resilient governance model, it also perpetuates structural inequalities and policy fragmentation. Federalism often impedes uniform national policy implementation and creates democratic deficits, particularly through disproportionate state influence. Nonetheless, the adaptability of the system suggests potential for reform that balances unity and diversity. Future developments in federalism will likely depend on the nation’s ability to navigate ideological divides and embrace pragmatic cooperation across levels of government. en_US
