Résumé:
The present study attempts to investigate EFL teachers’ and learners’ attitudes towards the role
of audio-visual aids in enhancing EFL learners’ speaking skills. Generally speaking, most
students of English face difficulties in learning English as a foreign language and particularly
they are unable to speak appropriately. Accordingly, to answer the research main question and
delve into the perspectives of both teachers and students regarding the incorporation of audiovisual aids to improve speaking skills, two questionnaires were administered to both teachers
of oral expression and third-year students. Thus, eighty third-year students and eight teachers
from the Department of English at the University of 8 Mai 1945-Guelma were randomly
selected for the academic year 2023-2024. The collected data were analyzed using a descriptivequantitative method. The obtained results demonstrated that both teachers and students have a
positive attitude towards the use of Audio-visual aids as a significant instructional tool for
enhancing speaking skills. Consequently, integrating audio-visual aids in EFL classrooms is a
good opportunity for learners to develop their speaking skills and for teachers to facilitate the
teaching process. Finally, this study suggested some pedagogical implications for both teachers
and learners.
