This study investigates the alarming and perpetual crisis of “Zombie drugs,” with a specific
focus on the fentanyl epidemic in the United States. To consider the approach adopted by the
US government in addressing the crisis, a case study of Philadelphia's Kensington Road is
conducted. An evaluation is provided regarding the government’s involvement, policies, and
strategies to combat the crisis by exploring the distinctive circumstances and challenges
experienced by communities, specifically in Philadelphia’s Kensington Road. The
dissertation analyzes the factors contributing to the rapid spread of “Zombie drugs,”
including the potent and dangerous opioid fentanyl. The effectiveness of government
measures, such as legislation, budget allocation, and other interventions employed to tackle
the crisis, is scrutinized. Likewise, the study identifies the gaps in the US government’s
response. The ultimate aim of this research is to advance the understanding of the “Zombie
drugs” crisis and its profound impact on American communities |
