dc.description.abstract The current study seeks to investigate teachers' attitudes towards the use of artificial intelligence in teaching essay writing. Teachers have become subject to a new form of teaching that combines the traditional method with the use of artificial intelligence. Hence, it is hypothesized that teachers are aware of the importance of using artificial intelligence in enhancing essays writing. And they may have a positive attitude towards using AI in enhancing essays writing. The research is conducted through a quantitative method by administering a questionnaire to sixteen (16) teachers of written expression at the English Department, University 8 Mai 1945, Guelma. The purpose of this questionnaire is to find out about teachers' views and perceptions about the influence of employing artificial intelligence when teach students’ essay writing. The analysis of the questionnaire revealed that the majority of teachers are aware of the importance of using AI, but they hold negative attitudes towards using it to teach students’ essay writing. Thus, the first research hypothesis was proved. Yet, teachers’ negative views about AI in general and its implication in writing essay in particular disconfirmed the second research hypothesis en_US
