dc.description.abstract Writing is a fundamental language skill; it is just as crucial as speaking, listening, and reading. Various strategies are used to improve the learners’ written production. Collaborative writing strategy is one of the significant techniques, which enables the students to work either in pairs or in groups to generate a good composition. This raised the interest of examining its effect on the students' writing achievements. Thus, the current study aimed at exploring teachers' and students' attitudes towards implementing collaborative writing strategy and its impact to enhance students' essay writing. It was hypothesized that students and teachers have positive attitudes towards the impact of collaborative writing strategy in enhancing students' essay writing. To test this hypothesis, a mixed- method was adopted. On the one hand, a quantitative descriptive method was followed, through administering a questionnaire for 136 second year Licence students at Department of English, University of 8 Mai 1945, Guelma. On the other hand, the qualitative descriptive method was employed through interviewing nine teachers of second year written expression at the same Department and University. It is conducted to gather information about their perspectives and perceptions regarding the topic. The findings show that both students and teachers have positive attitudes towards implementing collaborative writing strategy in enhancing students' essay writing if it is used correctly, seriously, and accurately. en_US
