Abstract
The current trend in pedagogy is to improve on traditional pedagogy by pro-
posing active learning methods in which the student plays an important role in
manipulating knowledge. One such method is project-based learning. Although en-
gagement is an important factor in the success of learning in general and e-learning
in particular, it remains weak in project-based learning environments. To this end,
we will propose a new approach to improving behavioral engagement in a project-
based e-learning environment. This approach is based primarily on the traces left by
learners during the learning process.
