Analysis of the physico-chemical parameters of the seawater revealed slight variations in temperature between the two sites. However, salinity and pH were significantly lower in Annaba than in El-Kala. Evaluation of sexual differentiation showed that environmental pollution had an impact on growth in Annaba. The reproduction period for Perinereis cultrifera is short, extending from April to May. Evaluation of metabolic reserves (proteins, carbohydrates and lipids) showed variable fluctuations during the breeding period, with differences between the two sites, particularly due to the approach of the breeding period in specimens collected at El-Kalaen_US
