dc.description.abstract | The purpose of the present study is to investigate EFL teachers' views and attitudes toward the integration of ChatGPT, an artificial intelligence language model, in their teaching practices in general and lesson planning in particular. Thus, it was hypothesized that if teachers use ChatGPT as a supporting tool in planning lessons, their lesson plans will be effective and creative. To achieve this aim, a mixed-methods approach to data collection was adopted with EFL teachers at the Department of English Language, University of 8 Mai 1945-Guelma. Through a structured questionnaire and a semi-structured interview. A questionnaire was administered to twenty-nine (29) teachers. Additionally, an interview was conducted with fifteen (15) teachers. The study explores teachers' integration of ChatGPT in lesson planning and evaluates its impact on fostering creativity in their instructional designs. The results obtained revealed that a great majority of teachers perceived ChatGPT as an important tool to be incorporated carefully in the teaching process, as well as their agreement that it can save time and efforts when designing lessons. | en_US |
