Abstract: This study aims to explore the methods applied in teaching EFL to pupils with special needs, focusing specifically on kids with autism and intellectual disabilities. The research selected Sedrati Khalifa Middle School in Sedrata, Souk Ahras_Algeria as a case study, because this school contains a Special Class in which 11 of these pupils receive their education. To achieve the objectives of this study and gather complete data a qualitativeexploratory method was employed. The research goals were realized through multiple sessions’ classroom observations that seek to obtain detailed information about the methods used in teaching these pupils. In addition to a series of interviews conducted with their EFL teacher, their speech therapist and the director of the Psychological and Pedagogical Centre they come from. In conclusion, this research showed the efforts offered by all the participants who serve these pupils starting by government policy makers to teachers and therapists. The study is an attempt to bring more attention to learners with special needs in Algeria and a chance to enrich the academic data available on this topic.
