dc.description.abstract Our study entitled “Preparation and physical and mechanical characterization of ceramic membranes based on DD1 and DD3 kaolins : application in the treatment of a FBB textile dye solution” has the overall aim of contributing to the valorization of local materials such as the kaolin from Djebel Debagh through the production of low-cost ceramic membranes that can be effective and efficient in the supply of drinking water to households. The development and characterization by XRD and BEM of the ceramic membranes showed that membranes synthesized from DD3 are better than those obtained from DD1 kaolin, and also mixed membranes with a higher proportion of DD3 than DD1. Sintering temperatures ranging from 800°C to 1200°C resulted in a DD3 membrane with promising structural and morphological properties, precisely those obtained at a sintering temperature of 1000°C. A study of the adsorption capacity of the industrial textile dye Red FBB by the DD3 and DD1 membranes showed the high efficiency of the membrane synthesized from DD3 with a maximum retention rate and under operating conditions of pH, initial dye concentration and adsorbent mass optimized by the experimental design. en_US
