Abstract

رسمت التطورات والاحداث في المنطقة العربية ملامح العلاقات السياسية بين الولايات المتحدة والسعودية، اذ تأثرت العلاقات بين الجانبين كثيراً بتطورات الصراع العربي – الاسرائيلي وتداعياته، بما في ذلك صادرات النفط العربي الى الغرب، الامر الذي جعل العلاقات الامريكية - السعودية في حالة من عدم الاستقرار والضبابية، وكانت حافلة بالتقلبات السياسية ابان العام الاول من ادارة الرئيس الامريكي جيرالد فورد. الا ان مواظبة صناع القرار السياسي في واشنطن على معالجة التصدعات التي اصابت علاقاتهم مع الجانب السعودي، ساهم في تعزيز التقارب بين البلدين، ومن ثم التوصل الى تفاهمات كان لها دوراً واضحاً على الصعيدين الدولي والاقليمي. The developments and events in the Arab region had an impact on the political relations between the United States and Saudi Arabia, as the relations between the two sides were affected by the developments of the Arab-Israeli conflict, Including Arab oil exports to the West, which made US-Saudi relations in a state of instability and clarity, and was full of political fluctuations during the first year of President Gerald Ford's administration. But the persistence of political decision-makers in Washington to address the cracks that afflicted their relations With the Saudi side, he contributed to strengthening the rapprochement between the two countries, and then reaching understandings that had a clear role at the international and regional levels.
