Abstract Personalized learning (PL) allows the content and timing of learning to be tailo- red to the specific needs of each learner. The growing adoption of this approach by educational institutions has the potential to improve the learning and engagement of learners by taking into account their preferences, characteristics, strengths and weaknesses. The emotional engagment of learners refers to emotions towards the educational content presented, teachers and peers. It is considered to be an essential factor in improving online learning outcomes. This paper aims to examine the influence of personalized learning on the emo- tional engagment of learners in an online learning environment. In order to achieve our goal, an approach to analyzing the feelings of learners has been proposed. This approach is based on the analysis of comments of thr learners using Support Vectors Machines (SVM). Learners’ comments is collected from the P_Learn platform that we have implemented and made available to the students of the computer science department. The results that have been found are promising and a statistical test is still under way.en_US
