The objective of this work is to synthesize, characterize, and evaluate the antioxidant activity of salicylaldimine-based ligands. We synthesized two Schiff bases using the conventional reflux method. The yields obtained were 71.4% for the first ligand (PAV) and 58% for the second ligand (PSM). Subsequently, we used various characterization and analysis techniques, including the evaluation of physicochemical properties, thin-layer chromatography (TLC), melting point determination, as well as UV-vis and IR spectral analysis, to reliably establish the structure and properties of the synthesized compounds. In addition to organic synthesis, we tested the in vitro antioxidant activity of these two ligands using ascorbic acid as the reference antioxidant by the following methods: DPPH and FRAP. The results showed that both ligands exhibited antioxidant activity, with PAV being slightly more active than PSM.en_US
