dc.description.abstractThis paper aims to study a modified Lindley distribution with a simple one‐parameter defined using an exponential fitting function which depends on only one parameter. Its main properties are investigated, with emphasis on moments, reliability parameter and asymptotic distributions of extreme order statistics. Then, the associated parametric model is considered. Parameter estimation is performed using the method of moments and maximum likelihood. Practical applications are given, demonstrating that the proposed model is suitable for fitting such dataen_US
