dc.description.abstractThe aim is to present a study on the different uses of solid materials and on the fundamental physical phenomena allowing the passage of electric current in dielectrics, in order to deepen our knowledge on the behavior of these insulators used in high voltage and to characterize the various electrical discharges thus produced and to analyze the effect of temperature on their aging. The dielectric strength of solid insulators is influenced by several electrical, physical and environmental factors. So all these factors can cause conduction phenomena in gases and in solids, which can threaten and reduce the dielectric performance of these dielectric materials.en_US
